Stories of Racism - Fatima’s Story
Fatima was born and spent most of her formative years in the Philippines. She migrated with her immediate family to Naarm (Melbourne) when she was 9 years old.
Fatima’s journey with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures is underpinned by her own Aboriginal children ensuring that knowledge is imparted, and Indigeneity is respected. Achieving this means that reconciliation moves forward; that injustice is redressed; that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island history takes place as a proud shared story of Australia; that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are treated as equals.
Fatima brings creative and design thinking within First Nations and its Peoples Cultural protections including Indigenous Cultural Intellectual Properties (ICIP), moral and copyrights and best practice values to engagement.
